A proud milestone for Cayman’s property industry

Grand Cayman, 25 September 2025, The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) hosted its annual Cayman Islands Forum marked by the launch of a new Residential Property Price Index that promises to bring greater transparency and confidence to the real estate sector.

Speaking at the event, Andrew Gilbert Chair of RICS Cayman Islands, highlighted the importance of the property industry as “the beating heart of Cayman’s economy and society.” He thanked the evening’s sponsors, Butterfield, Lands & Survey, CIREBA, Sandbank Capital, DART, and IRG, for their continued support in fostering professional dialogue and progress within the industry.

“Property is not just about walls and roofs, it is about culture woven into the fabric of the built environment. It is about creating places people love and ensuring they benefit both personally and financially from them”  

He underscored RICS’ mission to uphold the highest professional and ethical standards, emphasizing that integrity, openness, and trust are the foundations of the industry’s value.

The launch of the Cayman Islands Residential Property Price Index was positioned as a pivotal moment for the market. This new tool, developed in collaboration with Lands & Survey and with the support of the Cayman Islands Government, will provide professionals, policymakers, and the community with reliable data to better assess and guide the industry’s future.

“Our challenge, and indeed our duty, is to improve the built environment in harmony with the natural environment, and in line with the cultural values Caymanians rightly hold dear,” This index will play a vital role in ensuring transparency and building further confidence in the property sector.

The Forum also featured remarks from the Premier of the Cayman Islands, who reinforced the government’s commitment to supporting a thriving and trusted property industry.

The evening reflected the shared commitment of professionals, government, and industry partners to maintain Cayman’s reputation as a world-class real estate market rooted in trust, innovation, and collaboration.
